Mile 106: Forestville, Connecticut
A section of the 1898 Meriden USGS quadrangle, showing NY&NE station stops from New Britain to Bristol

This segment of the line is active rail, and currently owned by the CSX Railroad and operated by the Berkshire and Eastern on behalf of Pan Am Southern. You get a lot of reward for visiting here, as the Forestville Depot on the eastern side of Bristol presents a scene that makes you forget what century you are in.

c.1900 ticket to Forestville or Bristol
c.1900 ticket to Forestville or Bristol. I'm getting this date from comparing the half-ticket to other tickets on eBay with a similar format. The legend under the railway logo probably reads something like "GOOD FOR ONE PASSAGE TO STATION ON NEW YORK, NEW HAVEN & HARTFORD NAMED AT THE TOP OF THIS TICKET" if the others on eBay are any clue. The ticket would be validated with a station agent's stamp- if this one ever was validated, it must have been on the half that is now missing.
